Most colleges use SAT and ACT test results to help determine admission eligibility. Both tests are widely accepted. Students will be asked for our school code when registering: 100023

Dual Enrollment

  • The Dual Enrollment Program is an accelerated program that allows eligible students in grades 9-12 to take postsecondary courses and earn both high school and college credits. Students interested in participating in Dual Enrollment for the first time must meet with their school counselor to get more information on eligibility. We are currently partnered with Broward College, Florida International University and University of Florida for the Dual Enrollment program.

  • Cost

    There is no cost to qualifying students for required books or tuition.

    Initial Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be enrolled as a Broward County Public School student
  • Minimum 3.0 unweighted high school grade point average (GPA)
  • Qualifying scores on SAT, ACT, or PERT exam, Accuplacer Next Gen Exam
  • Continued Eligibility Requirements
  • Completed Dual Enrollment Recommendation form for each term signed by parent/legal guardian, student, and school counselor.
  • Maintain a 3.0 unweighted GPA in high school academic work
  • Maintain a 2.0 Broward College GPA
  • Earn a grade of a "C" or better in each college-level course
  • Dual Enrolled students who receive a "D" or "F" grade are no longer eligible to participate in the program

Initial Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a partner Florida public, charter or private school
  • Minimum 3.0 unweighted high school GPA
  • Meet minimum score on a common placement test adopted by the Florida Board of Governor Postsecondary College-Level Preparatory Testing standard scores which indicate that the student is ready for college-level work. Note: Only Alternative Method accepted by FIU is PSAT/NMSQT (PSAT 10)
  • Meet any additional criteria set by FIU as the post-secondary institution
  • Continued Eligibility Requirements
  • Maintain a 3.0 unweighted high school GPA
  • Maintain the minimum postsecondary 3.0 cumulative FIU GPA
  • Earn a grade of C* or better in all dual enrollment courses
  • *A student who earns a grade lower than a "C" in a dual enrollment course is not able to continue participating in the program.

Initial Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a Junior or Senior grade level high school student
  • Minimum 3.6 unweighted high school GPA or higher
  • A minimum score in one of the following: ACT (22), PSAT 10/NMSQT (1130), SAT (1100), CLT (72)
  • Meet any additional criteria set by UF as the post-secondary institution
  • Note: All students (returning and new) must complete a new online application each term to continue in the program.

Early Admissions

Early Admissions, is a form of dual enrollment, allows eligible high school senior students to enroll in at least 12 credits per term, Fall and Spring.

  • Students interested in the Full-Time/Dual Enrollment Early Admission program must meet the following requirements:
  • Be a rising senior in a partner Florida public, charter or private school
  • Minimum unweighted GPA requirement (BC - 3.0) (FIU -3.5)
  • Qualifying test scores
  • Meet any additional criteria set by the post-secondary institution.

REMINDER THAT STUDENTS MUST CHECK IF THEY ARE ELIGIBLE FOR DUAL ENROLLMENT WITH THEIR SCHOOL COUNSELOR!!!
